Bloomsburg's Justin Shepherd Wins Husky Invitational

BLOOMSBURG--Bloomsburg University's Justin Shepherd (Cranberry Twp/Seneca Valley) took first place at the Husky Invitational on Saturday to lead the Huskies to a second place finish as a team.

Finishing first as a team was Shippensburg with a total of 32 points, while Bloomsburg scored 44 in the event.

Shepherd took first place in a time of 26:47 to easily out distance Curt Ruble from Frostburg State who completed the course in 27:07. Stephen Thompson from Shippensburg was third in 27:13.

Overall, the Huskies had eight runners among the top 20 with Tim Marcoe (Lansdale/Lansdale Catholic) taking sixth in 27:41 with Ori Merkel (Philadelphia/Northeast) finishing 11th in 27:58.
